Prayer Request

PRAYER REQUEST

(Updated 1st July 2014)
After the 1st chemo cycle post relapse, Min Ser now has a severe lung infection (pneumonia) and is currently sedated in ICU as he has trouble breathing unaided. Pray for:-

1. Min Ser's white cell counts (especially the neotrophils) to come up. Currently it is 0.0.
2. Lung infection to clear out (subside)
3. Pray that there will be no more traces of cancer cells in the blood.

(Updated 12th October 2013)
It's 82 days post transplant. And Min Ser is well with no major incidents. Praise God!
Do continue to keep us in prayer:-

1. He will continue to gain his strength as he plans to go back to work in December.
2. Clear Bone Marrow Test results (test to be scheduled soon)
3. Continue to be in remission (no cancer) for the first 3 months (day +100 which is coming soon),
6 months, 1 year, 10 years and forever!

(Updated 14th June 2013)
Min Ser has successfully gone through three cycles of chemo and will have a full bone marrow match from Min Ser's one and only sister Tan Sue Min! This means that he is ready for the bone marrow transplant scheduled in mid July.

Do pray for:-
1. Smooth and quick engraftment of new healthy stem cells to start producing healthy red cells, white cells and platelets.

2. No adverse reactions to the conditioning chemotheraphy, drugs, and no GVHD (graft versus host disease).

3. Good appetite and good rest throughout the treatment.

4. Wise, accurate, and quick decision from doctors.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Updated 7th March 2013)
1. For Min Ser's body to be strong enough to ride through the chemo; first round is the strongest and carries the most risk. At the same time, that the chemo will be effective in killing the cancer cells quickly. The less cycles it takes to go into remission (no more cancer cells) the better.

2. For a suitable bone marrow donor match; sibling will have a 25% chance for a full match. Others will have < 1% chance, but doctors will check international registry of donors. Being Chinese apparently helps :)

3. For the genetic tests to show good results; if his genes are 'strong' the chances of a recovery are higher, and the chances of relapse lower.
